About Us

Ghana Petroleum Mooring Systems Limited (GPMS) is an oil and gas terminal responsible for the import of 80% of Ghana’s crude oil, gasoline and gas oil. GPMS operates under a 15 year exclusive concession from the tariff as determined from time to time by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).

Facilities

The All-Buoy Berth (ABB), also known as the Conventional Buoy Mooring (CBM) system is a mooring facility consisting of three to eight permanent mooring chains with anchors, which keep the vessel (ship) stationary and prevent it from weathervaneing. It is located at about 2.7 nautical miles from the fishing harbor.

The Single Point Mooring system (SPM), also known as the Catenary Anchored Leg Mooring (CALM) Buoy is a loading buoy anchored offshore, that serves as a mooring point and interconnect for tankers loading or offloading Crude oil. It is located at about 3.20 nautical miles from the fishing harbor.

This is a multi-purpose product terminal which allows for the discharge and loading of petroleum and various petroleum products, e.g., crude oil, fuel oil, aviation turbine kerosine (ATK), gasoil, gasoline, naphtha, and LPG (butane & propane).
