The single point mooring system (SPM) also known as the Catenary Anchored Leg Mooring (CALM) system is located at about nautical miles from the fishing harbor. It has a Water depth of about 22.0m with an allowable draft of 17m which connects tankers of maximum of 155,000 DWT.

The vessel is piloted from the pilot boarding grounds into the SBM system and moored unto a single buoy with a hawser.

The SPM connects to the shore tanks for the discharge of crude oil through a 16’’ hose and a 36’’ pipeline.

Approximately 341,160 metric tons of products are discharged through the system yearly

The All-Buoy Berth, also known as the conventional buoy mooring system is located nautical miles from the fishing harbor. It has a water depth of 18.0m with an allowable draft of 12.2 m which connects tankers of Max length 203.0m, breadth of 32.2m and maximum of 50,000 DWT.

The vessel is piloted from the pilot boarding ground into the ABB system and moored unto four buoys ei, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta.

The ABB connects to shore tanks for the discharge of white products, mainly gasoil and gasoline through 12’’ hoses and 18’’ pipeline.

Approximately 2.8M metric tons of products are discharged through the system yearly.

This is a multi-purpose product terminal which allows for the discharge and loading of petroleum and various petroleum products, e.g., crude oils, fuel oils, aviation turbine kerosine (ATK), gasoil, gasoline, naphtha, LPG (butane & propane) etc.

The Jetty operates with a draft of 9.60 meters, maximum and a Length Overall (LOA) of 244 meters, maximum.

Berthing and unberthing of vessels at the Jetty is handled by GPHA’s Pilot, tug boats and mooring team. During berthing vessels are moored with 2 x headlines, 2 x breast lines & 2 x stern lines.

GPHA Fire/Safety Team are on standby duty on a 24-hour basis at the jetty to provide assistance during an emergency or situation.

The Oil Jetty has five (5) Marine Loading Arms, (MLA’s) and also one (1) hose which are connected to Six (6) different size pipelines for the discharge and loading of petroleum and petroleum products.

The Oil Jetty is connected/linked to Eight (8) terminals/tank farms for the discharge and loading of petroleum and petroleum products. All tank farms are located outside the Jetty for Tema Oil Refinery and other private companies ding of petroleum and petroleum products.
