How We Give Back

Ghana Petroleum Systems Limited Company (GPMS) is committed to conducting business in a socially responsible and sustainable manner. We recognize the importance of contributing to the well-being of society and the environment in which we operate and we are dedicated to incorporating social and environmental concerns into our business operations and interactions with stakeholders. Thus, since 2019, GPMS has been involved in the following CSR programs/activities:

  • A partnership with Hopesetters Autism Centre, Tema through which the company funds programs for children with special needs.
  • Sponsorship of tertiary education of children from the Kpone fishing community.
  • A contract with the Kpone Fishermen Council to provide employment for unemployed youth from the Kpone fishing community, whose livelihoods (fishing) have been affected by the GPMS operations offshore.

Our CSR Policy Objectives

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy and procedure is to outline the details of our commitment and to ensure ethical business practices, environmental sustainability, community engagement and socially responsible implementation of the GPMS’ CSR targets and impacts.

Environmental Sustainability

GPMS is committed to the highest standards of safe, efficient and sustainable operation of its assets. Our Goal is to prevent spillages and to protect the environment. To achieve this, we will

  1. Continually assess and improve our environmental performance, including resource conservation, waste reduction, and emissions control.
  2. Maintain high standards of Health and Safety in all our operations whilst ensuring environmental protection, through best operating procedures and practices.
  3. Use energy and natural resources efficiently, prevent pollution and raise employee awareness to minimize adverse impacts on the environment.
  4. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations and apply appropriate standards where respective legislation does not exist.
  5. Be prepared at all times to respond to emergency situations timely and efficiently, in order to minimize the potential impact of incident should they occur.
  6. Hold in high esteem our employees, contractors and all stakeholders and to collaborate with each other to ensure our outmost goal of NO INJURY and NO SPILL is attained.
  7. To establish responsible sourcing policies, collaborate with suppliers committed to sustainability and promote the use of certified sustainable material.
  8. Contribute to the conservation of biodiversity in the area where we operate by implementing habitat conservation programs and engage in reafforestation initiatives.
